Commentary: The Stayton Mail
As a parent, grandparent and member of the North Santiam School Board, I’ve embraced the idea that our public schools have to prepare young people for college and beyond. Here in Oregon, we’re all working toward the 40/40/20 goal that anticipates that by 2025, 40 percent of our students will attain a bachelor’s degree, 40 percent will earn an associate’s degree or technical skills certificate, and 20 percent will graduate from high school.

Bond Projects Video New

On November 6, 2012 the North Santiam School District's construction bond for $22.85 million was overwhelmingly passed by voters who live within the boundaries of the District.

The formation and work of the Long Range Facilities Master Plan Committee, the Community Engagement Committee, and the Political Action Committee helped to make the bond a reality after efforts to pass a bond in 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2008 failed.

Safety, security, space, and infrastructural needs will be addressed with bond funds. The District has begun a "before and after" video that can be viewed below. As projects begin and end, this video will be updated.
