Summer/Fall 2014 Bond Projects and Superintendent Update New

This is a short update intended to clarify the rationale behind the value engineering decisions that have been made recently, as well as the market conditions that have forced the changes in upgrades that were added to the bond using premium dollars.  We also want to stress the intention of the District is to complete the original projects voted on by the community in 2012.

SHS Girls Golf Receives Academic All-State Award New

The SHS Girls Golf Team won the Dairy Farmer's Academic All-State Award for the 2014 Season. This award is given for academic excellence across all classifications (1A-6A high schools).  The top five players had a grade point average of 3.91.  The team includes: Holly Steele, Alyssa

Transfer Openings for 2014-15 New

The North Santiam School District has the following transfer openings for the 2014-15 School Year.  Students living within the North Santiam School District boundaries will have first chance at the existing openings.  The remainder of the openings will be filled by lottery on June 20th, based on the applications received between May 1st and June 15th.  In August, the District will again look at each school's numbers, including their new kindergarten registrations.  Applications still pending and any received between June 15th and August 20th will be filled by a 2nd lottery.  If you have any

The North Santiam School District has hired a new Stayton High School Vice Principal, Debi Brazelton.  Debi was hired as the principal of Mt.

District Hires New Stayton High School Principal

The North Santiam School District has hired a new Stayton High School Principal, Alan Kirby.  Alan is the current 2013-14 Assistant Principal and taught eight years prior as a teacher at the high school. Alan graduated from Western Oregon University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science Degree.  He went on to receive his Masters Degree in Teaching from Willamette University in 2001.  Alan also received his Administrator’s License from Willamette University in 2011.  Alan and his family have lived in Stayton for 9 years where he is well connected to the community, staff and students.
