Welcome to the North Santiam School District Nurses and Wellness Web Page.  The District Nurses are here to support the students and staff of the North Santiam School District with their health needs that impact or potentially impact learning.

We consult with students, families and school staff to support student's access to learning that may be impacted by health needs.  We are responsible for training staff in a variety of health related topics.

The North Santiam School District has two nurses that job share the one full time position.

Denise Cardinali, RN, BSN is the Lead District Nurse and has worked in our district four years.  Denise has more than 25 years experience in pediatric nursing and has worked with children in a variety of settings. Denise works Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in a typical work week.

Nancy Puntney, RN, ADN is a District Nurse and brings a variety of nursing experience including pediatrics.  Nancy is a local resident of Stayton and returned to her nursing career as her children finished at Stayton High School. Nancy works Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday in a typical work week.

Current Topic:
We will use this web page to share current information about current medical concerns in the community.  Influenza (flu), both the seasonal flu and the H1N1 (swine) flu are the most pressing issue for our local community.  We work closely with local health care providers and the Marion County Health Department as appropriate to address health needs.  For current information on flu and other topics please visit the Marion County Health Department website.  Also, at the top right hand corner of this screen you can access Center for Disease Control for the lastest information on flu.
